China trip, April 2007

Flew into Shanghai from Singapore. Picked up at the airport and taken to the hotel. After checking in, went for a little walkabout, but discovered that being the TWG (Tall White Guy) meant I stood out, especially to the venders and scammers.

Spent the night, took a cab to the airport, then a quick flight to Jianming for a few days, then back to Shanghai.

No matter where, I can always find a Starbucks.

Small cafe. Again, I'm the only one smiling.

Last night, taking me out to dinner. Why am I the only one smiling?
